Monarch Beach Homes

July 27th, 2010 Comments off

Monarch Beach HomesMonarch Beach California, once known for its Monarch Butterfly population, could probably be one of the most luxurious places in the entire world. If you experience its pristine natural bay, beautiful trails and beach front access, you may never want to leave.  It’s nestled in one of the wealthiest spots in South Orange County just north of Strands Beach and Dana Point Harbor and south of Laguna Beach.  The area’s word class luxurious resorts and famous Links golf course are a few of its prime destinations.  Except for the occasional estate home that sells, Monarch Beach real estate is surprisingly affordable for the entry-to-mid level luxury home buyer.  So far in 2010, Monarch Beach single family homes are selling for a median price of $1.06 million with the average priced home selling for $1.34 million dollars.  This points to the heavier weighted luxury homes that are selling in Monarch Bay Terrance, Ritz Point and Monarch Bay neighborhoods.  The higher end Monarch Beach homes are selling in the $1.2 to $3 million dollar range with random estate homes selling for $6 million dollars plus.  Most high end homes in the area have white water ocean views and local beach access.  Top end homes in Monarch Beach neighborhoods are gated and some have staffed 24 hour security.  Dana Hills is the local high school for Monarch Beach residents, a National Blue Ribbon school and as recently as 2008 ranked in the top 2% of high schools in the United States per Newsweek.

There are only two ocean front golf courses in Orange County, Monarch Beach Golf Links is one of them.  And a championship course it is.  I’ve been thinking recently why we love golf so much and I’ve come to my own conclusion.  Where we are surrounded by concrete and asphalt, it’s an escape to nature, no matter how manicured it may be.  Think about it.  You are surrounded by the smell of fresh cut grass, green trees and shrubberies and usually sand and water.  In Monarch Beach Golf Links, you also get views of the Pacific Ocean and the feel of refreshing breezes while you play.

Excluding luxury spa visits and ocean front golf, most people enjoy activities on the beach, in the water and at local parks in Monarch Beach.  The St. Regis and the Ritz Carlton offer fine dining and for a little less change, the Salt Creek Grill is a nice place to dine with its large outdoor fireplace and classy menu.  Dana Point Harbor is also nearby if you need a slip to rent for your yacht or sailboat.  Although you might be able to see your house from your sail boat right in Monarch Bay, there is really no means to come ashore unless you plan on getting wet.  The Dana Point Harbor is about a mile away.

Monarch Beach is easily one of the best places to visit in California and if you are inclined, a very satisfying place to own real estate, a second home or even your primary residence if you can’t get enough of the luxurious California lifestyle.
